Hospice of South Texas is committed to offering a variety of bereavement services to individuals, with special emphasis on providing family bereavement support. The goal is to help the patient’s family and other loved ones cope with grief and loss issues.

Bereavement services begin with the initial assessment and an individualized care plan and continue 13 months following the death of the patient. The care plan may include grief educational group meetings, informational literature, correspondence, phone calls and our Service of Remembrance.

Bereavement services address such issues as:

  • Family and grief loss issues
  • Survivor(s) needs
  • Social, religious, and cultural issues
  • Risk factors
  • Potential for complicated grief reactions
